Ecological disaster

This series won a Silver Award in the Tokyo International Foto Awards 2022, in the category Science/Environment. Due to the current drought, climate change, and Caspian Sea pollution, Azerbaijan's water supplies have been severely reduced. At the same time, there has never been a clearer connection between growing cattle and climate change. The upshot of farm animals' tremendous negative effects on the climate and their massive water consumption is abandoned farms, dying animals, and dried-up lakes.
 

Ukrainian Refugees

A short story about Ukrainian refugees was awarded a winning place by curator choice in the Paris Photo Prize (PX3) "State of the World",  Honorable mention in the MonoVision Photography awards and Tokyo International Foto Awards.

Inspired by Andrew Wyeth

A project inspired by a very particular coastal sea marsh in England and the paintings of American 20th century artist Andrew Wyeth. The location and its hazy, fog-bound atmosphere seemed to come together with the old, forgotten boats harbored there to make a complex picture of the accumulation of time and deterioration, the poignancy of abandonment and the potent imagery of once-productive vessels now defunct. Everything captured, from the sleeping pigeon, to dead seed heads and listing boats seems to take on the progressive slumber of the place, all overseen by the washed out sky full of leaden, pale gray, completely opposite to the sharp blues we see in more vivacious depictions of coastal landscapes.
